Opening ballet from White Nights- Mikhail Baryshnikov

How do you see the attached site? Is Baryshnikov
expressing a relationship with a bitch or more?
Let his dancing lead your thoughts. Is the woman
who enters his life difficult, honorary and
self-centered? Or is she a Dominant; only
satisfied with his surrender; his body, his
soul---or his life? How do you see it?

Keeping The World Shiny And Tight And Well Disciplined

  1. I have given some more thought to Barishnikoff's dance and I feel that you are on the right track on this piece. Not only is the woman self centered but she is extremely narcissistic and I think I like it... She is fully aware that the young man is smitten with her and she uses his passion as her tool to torment and tease him. This unrequited love causes the young man to literally flip and in this distraught and deranged state of mind - he commits suicide just as she has ordered him to do. The subsequent dance speaks the unspoken words. The look on their faces brings such a mystical significance to the piece which I find enduring and alluring. I love this number. Great choice Amiga mia
